

Richard "Dick" McInerney (age 73) went home to be with the Lord on February 20, 2011. A lifelong resident of Spokane, he was born April 16, 1937. Dick worked as a telephone technician with Pacific Northwest Bell / AT&T, retiring after 30 years with the company. He later owned and operated McInerney Seed and Feed. Dick was a longtime member of the St. Thomas More parish, and was involved with St. Vincent de Paul. He had a deep love for his family, and enjoyed a good conversation, time spent at Priest Lake and his garden. Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon McInerney of Spokane; sons, Russ McInerney (Cindy) and Ron McInerney (Tia), both of Spokane; a daughter, Deb Alarcon (Frank) of Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bob, Brian and Bill McInerney; a sister, Lonna Stowe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St. A Vigil Service will be at 7:00 pm on Friday at Hazen & Jaeger. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 505 W. St. Thomas More Way. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Union Gospel Mission.
