

Ruby Lue Poage, 93, passed away on January 11, 2016 in Spokane, WA and was born on Oct. 2, 1922. She is survived by two sons, Russ Poage (Linda) and Randy Poage (Kim); two granddaughters, April Stark (Mike) and Rusan Barnes (Kyle); four great-grandchildren, Peyton Stark, Avery Stark, Braden Barnes, and Logan Barnes; brother, Ernie Ballard, and sister Bernice Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Poage, her parents, 1 brother, and two sisters. Ruby devoted her life to her family and her home. She raised two sons, and was an integral part of her granddaughters’, and great grandchildren’s lives as well. Ruby loved going to church and teaching Sunday school at Hillyard Christian Church, then attended Westgate Christian Church in her later years. She was involved with the Lamplighters group, Boy Scouts, and enjoyed the camaraderie with all of her Prayer Sisters throughout the years. Ruby was a very selfless lady, was constantly cooking up some recipe, and always had enough food for anyone who stopped by during meal time. On Monday afternoons you could almost always find a son, a granddaughter, or great-grandchildren sitting at the table for lunch on Queen St. or in the dining room at Fairwinds. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home’s Alwin Chapel, 1306 N. Monroe St., Spokane with Minister John Hickman. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
