

Tevyn Lin Van Houten age 27, a resident of Spokane died Saturday April 16, 2011. He was born in Coeur d’Alene, ID to Linda G. and Thomas A. Van Houten. He attended schools in Green Acres and was graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 2002. He married his sweetheart, Lori Nelson, in Coeur d’Alene, ID in 2006. A skilled craftsman, Tevyn was employed at Metal Rollforming Systems, Inc. of Spokane as a machinist. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed home renovations, gardening, woodworking, hunting, fishing, motor sports and walking his two dogs Marcy and Ashley. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, grandson and friend to many. Survivors include his loving wife and best friend Lori Van Houten of Spokane; parents Linda and Arne Swanson of Bellevue, WA and Thomas A. Van Houten of Boise, Idaho; brothers Troy (Kelli) Van Houten of Boise, ID, Taylor (Katie) Van Houten of Layton, UT, Taryn (Heather) Van Houten of Spokane Valley and James “Wade” (Heidi) Erickson of Mountlake Terrace, WA; Grandmothers Mrs. (James) Grace Dirk of Hayden Lake, ID and Mrs. Jerrie Van Houten of Boise, ID; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert C. Van Houten and Larry R. Broadbent. Friends are invited to a time of visitation Thursday, April 21 from 4 to 8 pm and to Funeral Services Friday, April 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm all at the Ball and Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 West Wellesley Avenue, Spokane, WA 99205. Interment will follow at Forest Cemetery Riverview Annex in Coeur d’Alene, ID with a reception to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Cat Tails Zoological Park, 17020 N.
