Vicki Lee Mellinger

Our beautiful Vicki died peacefully with her family by her side on Dec. 21, 2011. Vicki was born on Aug 3, 1958 in Lincoln, NE while her father Gerald was in the Air Force and where he met her Mother Trula. They then moved to Spokane WA. Vicki eventually went into Venture Manor Group Home at the age of 21. Many thanks to the Turnbough family and staff for the excellent care they provided. She enjoyed working at Goodwill for 15 years. She was an avid Washington State Cougar sport fan. She took pride in always wearing her Cougar shirts to work and she loved to attend Cougar Football Games. She also was involved in the Special Olympic skiing program for several years winning many medals throughout the State of Washington. She also was invited to participate in the National Special Olympics at Lake Tahoe, NV winning more medals there. Vicki was loved by all who came in touch with her and her beautiful smile. She lived in the River Haven Adult Family Home for several years before she went to Heaven. The family wishes to thank Michelle and Ed Smith and family and staff for the wonderful loving care that they provided for Vicki and our thanks to Horizon Hospice for their special support. She is survived by her mother, Trula and father, Gerald ; her brother, Richard and his sons Sage, Levi and Kendrick; Grandma Anne & Aunt Carol Mellinger of San Francisco CA; Uncle Richard and Aunt Kathy Mellinger and their children Chrissy and Cheri, and Uncle James Starr of Spokane WA. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011, 11:00am at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home.
