

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and faithfully attended Friendship A.M.E Church, located at 118 South Bell Street in South Carolina. His life was firmly rooted in faith, guided by the scripture:
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
- II Timothy 4:7
Walter completed his public education, attended trade school, and later earned a Master of Science in Information Technology (Network Technology) from Capella University. He also earned an Associate of Applied Science in Logistics Management from Community College of the Air Force.
In 1971, Walter proudly enlisted in the United States Air force, where he dedicated twenty years of distinguished and honorable service from 1971 to 1991. His military career encompassed all functional areas of logistics management. As a veteran who faithfully served during both the Vietnam War and the Gulf War eras, he retired in 1991 with honor, commitment, and deep patriotism.
Walter was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, faithful friend, and man of unwavering faith. He deeply loved his parents, his beloved wife, Sherry, and his son Quincy. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife, Sherry Bowie Bailey of Spokane, Washington; his son Quincy Raymond Bailey of Greensboro, North Carolina; and his siblings: Donna B. Jacobs (Larry), Anthony O. Bailey (Melissa) of Clinton, South Carolina, and Glenn T. Bailey (Brenda) or Laurens, South Carolina.
Walter found great joy in worship, fellowship, football, basketball. travel, and finishing. He embraced life wholeheartedly and treasured every opportunity to encourage and uplift others. He faithfully served as one of the hosts of Church Without Walls and participated in weekly Wednesday night Bible study, sharing his wisdom, faith, and love for God with all who knew him.
Walter Bailey was truly a remarkable man whose life touched countless hearts. He was known for his compassion, wisdom, humility, strength, and unwavering love for others. Through both his words and his example, he inspired many lives with integrity, purpose, and faith. His leadership and guidance left a lasting impact on his family, friends, community, and everyone blessed to know him.
As a devoted Godfather to Pee'nut, he inspired Royal, Kayden, and Karter. Walter provided steadfast support, wisdom, protection, and unconditional love that will forever be treasured. He was deeply cherished because of his genuine heart, generous spirit, and selfless nature. Despite his many accomplishments and gifts, one of Walter's greatest qualities was his willingness to freely give of himself - always offering encouragement, kindness, and love while making others feel valued and cared for.
Walter Thomas Bailey Jr. was truly a blessing to his family, friends, acquaintances, and country. His faith, courage, leadership, and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his legacy of love and devotion shine brightly for generations to come.
