Wilson Robert Owen

Born to Harry Lyle and Madonna J. Owen at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA. Baptized and Confirmed at St. Xavier Catholic Church, Spokane, WA. Wilson was a member of the Spokane Eagles Aerie #2 Boxing Club while in grade school. He graduated from John R. Rogers High School in 1985 and then pursued his passion for music at Spokane Falls Community College and in the Marauders Drum and Bugle Corps. He began working in the Hospitality Industry from an early age and for many years before moving on to work at Holy Family Hospital in the Environmental Services Department under department director, Mike Charles. After a valiant fight with cancer Wilson succumbed peacefully on the morning of March 25.

Wilson was preceded in death by his father, Harry Lyle Owen, uncle Charlie Gourneau, uncle Kenneth Gourneau and aunt Gladys Poitra. He is survived by his mother Madonna J. Owen, younger twin brothers Harry and Donald Owen, half brother Terrence Gourneau, uncle Howard Gourneau, aunt Sketa Gourneau, Uncle Dwight Gourneau, Aunt Shirley Gourneau, aunt Dolores Manson, Uncle Ron Manson, aunt Rita Erdrich, numerous cousins and sister of the heart Helen Fredrick.

A special remembrance of Lucille Davis, his pen pal who wrote to him weekly to uplift his spirits for the past 6 months, providing additional loving prayers and support during a time of need.

Memorial services will be presided by Pastor James Leman, 1st Free Methodist Church, and Father Uchi, Chaplain at Providence Holy Family Hospital. The location of the service will be at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 W. Wellesley. Honorary pallbearers are Harry Owen, Donald Owen, Paul Pease, James Johnson, Mike Clayton and Dave Quaschnick. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery on North Wall St. Spokane, WA. The date of the memorial service will be April 8th at 10:00 am with reception to follow at Ball and Dodd.
