

Leland Bernard Rundquist was born on May 14, 1940, in Hallock, Minnesota to parents Bernard and Violet (Clow) Rundquist. Lee was baptized and confirmed at the Sion Lutheran Church in Lancaster, MN. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1958, and then attended and graduated from Vocational Technical College in Thief River Falls, MN in 1960 with a degree as an Auto Body Technician. In 1966 he then moved to the Twin Cities area where he worked as an Auto Body Technician until 1972 when he moved to Springbrook to open his own Auto Body Shop called Lee’s Auto Body Shop. On May 14, 1966, Lee was united in marriage to Beulah Morse in Pine City, MN. Lee enjoyed hunting, restoring items, spending time outdoors, being a gifted craftsman, and having a good time with friends.
Lee died on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Spooner Health System at the age of 71.
Lee is survived by his children: Randall Rundquist of Spooner, WI, Reynold (Lorilee) Rundquist of Maryland, Carlene (Michael) Bartle of Springbrook, WI, Cari (Van) Johnson of Springbrook, WI, 8 grandchildren: Brandon Rundquist, Elizabeth Rundquist, Breanna Bartle, Mara Bartle, Jessica Rundquist, Dean Rundquist, Joshua Howells, Dylan Jensen, 1 great granddaughter Kaydence Johnson, brother Vaughn (Loreen) Rundquist of Havre, MT, Rita (Dan) Cole of Belle Plain, MN, several niece, nephews, and extended family.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents and wife Beulah.
A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, from 10- 12pm at the Dahl Funeral Home with a reception to follow at Lee’s Home. A private family interment will be held at a later date at the Earl Cemetery.
