Alla Marguerite Harris

Alla Marguerite Harris, 97, of Sarasota, Florida passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024. She was born in Russell, Kentucky to Edgar Leon and Marjorie Alice Foster. Marguerite lived a long and happy life. She was mentally sharp and intelligent right up to the very end. A story she liked to tell is when she was 17 years old, she graduated from high school, was saved and got married all in the same year. When she was saved at the age of 17, she did good work for God her entire life. Her first jobs were at J.C. Penny’s and Russell, Kentucky YMCA, as well as, a long career as the Postmaster of Racine, West Virginia, which she enjoyed very much. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sarasota, Florida. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.

She is preceded in death by ten brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her loving daughter Donna McMillian, brother Alex Foster, sister Ellen Sparks and a granddaughter Kimberly Young.

A visitation for Alla will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Turner Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, 14360 Spring Hill Dr, Spring Hill, FL 34609.
