

Andrew “Andy” Erbach, age 90, of Brooksville, FL., (Brookridge), died on Friday, May 8, 2015, in the wonderful care of the House of Hope, VA Foster Home, In Spring Hill, FL. Andy was born on August 24, 1924 in Chicago, IL, to the late Joseph H. and Euphemia (McClellan) Erbach. Andy was a resident of Brooksville, coming to this area in 1985 from the Grays Lake, Illinois. During high school, Andy decided to join the US Army Air Force, became an aerial gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress, and survived 27 missions over Germany, Northern France, Ardennes, and Central Europe. In October of 1945 Andy was discharges honorably as a Staff Sergeant. Andy became the local wholesale milk and dairy man for 13+ years forming his own route in the areas west of Chicago. Andy joined the Prudential Insurance Company and served a long carrier as a Salesman. Once retired Andy joined the Spring Hill Publix and worked for another 9 years. Andrew is preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley (O’Connell) Erbach in 1988, as well as brothers, Joseph and Lawrence Erbach, and sister-in-law Joan Erbach. Andy is survived by his entire loving family to include, daughters; Sandra (Gerald) Benson of Bloomington, MN, Susan (Robert) Schauwecker of Summerville, SC, Patricia Quick of Brooksville, FL, and son, Peter Erbach, of Mineral Point, WI. Andy will be greatly missed by his 7 grandchildren, 4 great granddaughters, and brother James Erbach of Chicago, IL. As a past member of the VFW Andy was sponsored to enter the VA Foster Care program and was given great care by the House of Hope, in Spring Hill. As requested by Andrew, there will be no formal funeral services. Care and cremation are entrusted to the Turner Funeral Homes, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL. Andrew will be buried next to his beloved Shirley, and his family will celebrate Andrew’s life privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made in Andrew’s honor to the VA Foster Care Program.
