

Anthony J. Volpe, 91, of Spring Hill, FL. Passed away on October 9, 2017 at HPH Hospice Care Center in Brooksville, FL. A native of Chester, PA, he was born January 10, 1926 to John and Carmela (Oronato), Volpe, one of five children. Anthony proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII and was a retired chief director for the State of Pennsylvania Treasurer’s Office and also was a talented finish carpenter by trade. Mr. Volpe moved to Hernando County in 1976 from Philadelphia, PA and was of the Roman Catholic faith. He loved working in and beautifying his own yard, and he won awards for his efforts. In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Theresa, who passed on July 4, 2007 and his siblings John and Salvatore Volpe and Mary Brooks; a brother-in-law Frank Conway and a daughter-in-law, Rebecca Volpe. He is survived by his six children: John Volpe (wife Debbie); Anthony Volpe (wife Marguerite); Joseph Volpe (wife Elaine); Mark Volpe (wife Cheryl); Carmela Sterling (husband Peter) and Francis Volpe (wife Marlene); grandchildren John Jr., Frankie, Anthony III, John, Anna, Theresa, Joey, Tony, Maria, Gabriella, Theresa, P.J., Andrew, Corrine and Brett; sister Rosie Conway and sister-in-law Adeline Volpe, as well as numerous great grandchildren. Friends will be received on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Turner Funeral Home, Spring Hill, where a chapel service and celebration of Anthony’s life will take place at 2:00 P.M..
