Catherine Ann Machaj

Cathy was born to Edward and Virginia Wysocki on October 28, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois. She met her husband Anthony Machaj in 1969 in Chicago, Illinois. They were married on March 21, 1970 and went on to have two children, Victoria and Christina.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife and mother, Cathy also loved reading, baking, and sharing time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her winters in Spring Hill, Florida at Big Oaks RV Resort, making special memories with her ‘second family’, working in the office part-time, crafting and participating in a variety of other social activities.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Anthony Machaj; daughter, Victoria (Matthew) Alvarez, grandchildren Samantha, Rebecca and Keagan; daughter Christina Kubicek, grandchildren, Luke, Zachary, Levi and Alia; siblings, Paula (Charles) Hughes, Cynthia (Harold) Buchter, and Anna (Blair) Mahan. Numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Virginia Wysocki, her stepfather Edward Schmidt, her mother-in-law Anna Machaj, as well as her brother Michael Schmidt.

The family is hoping to plan a memorial service at a later date to celebrate and remember Cathy’s beautiful life.
