Born on January 22, 1969, in New York City, Geri was the daughter of Susan and Andrew Winnegar. With a deep love for learning, she attended Flagler College in St. Augustine and later St. Leo University in Dade City, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. Never one to back down from a challenge, Geri attained her MBA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a milestone she worked hard for and treasured deeply.
Geri built a remarkable 30-year career at Mettler Toledo, where she held various roles, always leading with dedication, heart, and integrity. Her work wasn’t just a job to her, it was a calling, and her colleagues became a second family. She especially took pride in her role as XR Product Line Manager and was honored with several awards for her outstanding contributions.
But Geri’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife of 30 years to Patrick Foley and a loving mother to their son, Neil Foley. Geri’s proudest achievement was the fine young man that Neil had become. She also leaves behind her brothers, Andrew and Michael Winnegar, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Geri had a contagious zest for life. She loved to travel, soak up the sun at the beach, and capture special moments with her camera, later turning those memories into beautiful Shutterfly books to share with family and friends. Whether she was planning themed parties, coaching soccer, or simply making everyday moments extraordinary, Geri gave her all with a generous heart and a joyful spirit.
Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, especially after her cancer diagnosis. A member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Spring Hill, Geri leaned deeply into her faith and held a special devotion to Pope Saint John Paul II. Her trust in God’s plan never wavered, even during life’s greatest challenges.
