Born on July 16, 1940, he was one of six children of Edna Garren and is survived by three loving sisters, Judy, Nancy and Cathy.
He was married to the love of his life, Barbara, for over 50 years until her passing in August 2019. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children, Clifford (Roxanne), Annmarie, and Nancy (Bradley). His legacy continues through his six grandchildren—Amanda Block (Thomas), Tylerann Wiley, Allison Gray, Heather Lee Wiley, Ehren Friesen, and Joanna Friesen—and three great-grandchildren, Kailyn Block, Kira Block, and Jonah Lee Cundiff.
A proud veteran, he served his country in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. After his military service, he dedicated over 30 years to the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as Assistant Postmaster.
Family was the cornerstone of Joe’s life. He and Barbara were deeply involved in the lives of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Their unwavering love and guidance created a strong, proud family that will carry forward their values and cherish their memory always.
Joe will be remembered for his strength, devotion, and the quiet wisdom he shared with those around him.
The Gray family will have a private ceremony to place Joe’s ashes in the family vault with Barbara. They ask that everyone who knew Joe and Barbara cherish the memories and thank you for being an important part of their lives while they were here on Earth.
