James R. Sims, 85, of San Antonio, Florida (formerly of Douglasville, Georgia) was called Home on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Mallory and Nellie Sims. He was a member of San Antonio Community Church and a retired US Naval Air Reserve veteran. Jim enjoyed wood carving, photography, visiting with friends and was a master gardener. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Betsy Sims; daughter Susan Hall and husband Ehon, sons Phillip W. Sims and wife Chris; Alan Sims; brother Robert W. Sims; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama, with burial at Bold Springs Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.
