Jean E. Rath

Jean E. Rath (nee`, Klafehn) 89, of Spring Hill, FL passed away on May 14, 2021. Jean was born in Hamlin, NY on October 7, 1931, graduated from Brockport High School in Brockport, NY in 1949 and married Robert E. Rath on July 7, 1951.

Besides being a homemaker, she touched many lives along her journey working for many and varied employers including Sibley's in Rochester, NY, Fujifilm Processing, Brockport, NY Bay Tree Center in Palm Harbor, FL, and Marple Furniture in Hilton, NY. She taught interior decorating classes and was an artist and calligraphist. She especially enjoyed her time as an usher at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL and had a passion for quilting and reading.

She is survived by her three daughters, Melody (Rath) Nettnin, Melinda (Rath) Lee, Marcy (Rath) Thurman, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren, sister Karen Young, brother Keith Klafehn and many much-loved family and friends. A service of celebration and thanksgiving for her life will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hamlin, NY on October 2, 2021, at 2:00 pm.
