He is preceded in death by his father, John; his mother, Ruth; and his brother, Kevin. John is survived by his loving wife of more than 56 years, Terry Moran; his son, Keith Moran (Kim); his daughter, Kimberly Lewandowski (Todd); his grandson, John Moran; and his granddaughters, Caitlin Lewandowski and Madison Moran.
John proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army’s 1st Infantry. He was born and raised in New York, then moved to New Jersey, and later retired to Florida. Prior to his retirement, he was an Assistant Borough Superintendent for the New York City Department of Sanitation. He was a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Spring Hill, FL. John loved sports and was an avid fan of the NY Mets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Tampa Bay Lightning. One of his greatest joys was cheering on and supporting his grandchildren in their sports and activities. He also greatly enjoyed playing in his senior softball league.
John’s family meant the world to him, and he was immensely proud of all their accomplishments. Above all else, John was a loving and fiercely devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved nothing more than spending time with his family and seeing all of them happy.
