Despite a long-term battle with COPD, atrial fibrillation, and congestive heart failure, Judy lived a long, love-filled life! Though her family had been preparing for this moment, her passing was sudden and swift. We are grateful she passed peacefully, without distress or suffering, and surrounded by love and family.
In her early years, Judy worked as a waitress at a high-end dinner club. After moving to Florida, she became a secretary for the Detective Division of the St. Petersburg Police Department, in a subdivision known as the “Charlie Team,” where she met her husband, George W. Fought. Later, and most importantly, she was a dedicated stay-at-home mom and devoted caregiver to her grandchildren!
Judy had a deep passion for Christ and lived her faith through both service and fellowship. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including cruising, crafting and sewing, gardening, bowling, and golfing. Her love for helping others was evident in her involvement with youth ministries, mission trips, disaster relief efforts, and volunteer projects—such as sewing bears and heart-shaped pillows for the sick.
She regularly served at Weeki Wachee Christian Camp and Central Florida Bible Camp, where she was a beloved member of the kitchen staff. Judy was blessed with a large and loving network of brothers, sisters, and friends in Christ through her faithful memberships at Pinellas Park Church of Christ, Pleasant Grove Church of Christ, and Spring Hill Church of Christ.
Later in life, she found joy in cruising with her best friends and could often be found outside, lovingly tending to her yard and garden —especially her azaleas and African violets. She also had a passion for bowling and was an active member of several leagues. She was proud to be part of the prestigious Florida Bowling Queens, an organization for top women bowlers, and traveled to many tournaments.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Sr. and Marion Brzozowski; her first husband, Fernando Joseph Beauchene; and her second husband, George Winslow Fought.
Judy is survived by her (4) children and their spouses: Penny & Cam Banks, Michelle & David Hand, Fred & Donita Beauchene, and Sandi & Eric Roberts. (2) stepsons: William (Bill) Posey, James (Jim) & Linda Posey.
