

Kenneth J. Saunders, age 66, of Brooksville, FL, died suddenly on Friday, at the Bayfront Health Brookville. Kenneth was born on December 16, 1948, in Pittsburg, Ca. to the late Robert and Angela (Cherchio) Saunders. A resident of Brooksville, Fl. since May 1988. Prior to that he lived in Glenmore, PA. for 3 years and 35 years in Littleneck, Queens, NY. Kenneth retired after 21 years as the Catering Representative and Customer Care Specialist for British Airways. He mainly operated from JFK Airport, but, also served and lived in Miami, Boston, London, and other parts of the US. After moving to Spring Hill, as a Master Cave Diver, he opened Suncoast Watersports, on US 19 in Spring Hill, as the owner and dive instructor. Kenneth was a passionate outdoorsman, enjoying Hunting, Fishing, Boating, Diving, Teaching Survival Skills, playing Guitar and music. Kenneth was Roman Catholic by faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Nick & Dorothy DelMedico, sister-in-law, Debbie DelMedico, and uncle, Bill Davis. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nikki L. Saunders, of Brooksville, FL. daughters; Lisa Saunders Hacker and husband Tony, of Martinsville, IN, and Laura Saunders, of Brooksville, FL. Ken is also survived by his grandchildren; Cody, Dillan, Autumn, Jacob, Jade, Hunter, Johnny, Dallas, Kyla, Kamden, and Allison. Also surviving is his brother-in-law, Michael DelMedico and his wife Barbara, of Naples, FL. Nieces; Kristine Sauer and her husband Charles of Naples, FL. Jennifer Wappes and her husband Pete, of Naples, FL. Ashley DelMedico, of Sebastopol, CA. and Kaity Carney, of Naples, FL. He will be greatly missed by his son-in-law Keith Taylor and his wife Kristy, of Spring Hill, FL. and by John Baumstark and his wife Danielle & Children of Brooksville, FL. Ken’s family and friends will gather for the visitation on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at the Turner Funeral Homes, Spring Hill Chapel, at 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL. 34601. The visitation will be held from 2-4 PM, with a funeral service to be held at 4 PM, and will be led by Reverend Chet Okopski, Retired. A reception will follow the funeral service. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, donations to Nikki to help defray funeral expenses would be welcomed.
