Laureano Cortes Custodio, 95, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at his residence. He was born in the town of Angeles, Utuado, Puerto Rico to Marcelino and Romualda Cortes. He is survived by his wife Thelma Cortes, sons Jorge A. Cortes; Laureano Cortes Jr and Joel; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. His life was further enriched with four additional daughters; Jenny Ureña, Carmen Matos, Thelma Febles and Fabiola Schooley, 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Estrella Cortes and sons Nelson and Emilton Cortes.
He was loved by many and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. As King Solomon of ancient Judea was inspired to write in the Holy Scriptures; he made himself a “good name”. He was known to many as a father, counselor, confidant and brought joy to all through his laughter and smile. However, he will be mostly remembered as a worshipper of our heavenly father Jehovah. He publicly declared the ‘Good News of the Kingdom’, where Jesus is our reigning king and through this conviction believed he would be resurrected to life in the future, to a restored paradise earth where all of mankind’s sufferings would be resolved.
A public talk to encourage all those who mourn and love him will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 8017 Toucan Trail, Spring Hill, FL 34606 on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 3:30 p.m.
