Mary was born on July 20, 1938, in Bradley Junction, Florida, to Roy E. Forbes and Lucille Mullins Forbes. She grew up as the daughter of a pastor, and her father was someone she adored deeply. Music was a central part of her life from an early age—she played piano for her father’s church and had a beautiful singing voice that touched many.
Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She had a quick wit, a wonderful sense of humor, and a laugh that could fill a room. She was steady, supportive, and endlessly loving, always putting her children and grandchildren first.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph D. Waldroff; her children, Christine Spalango and Darrell Waldroff; her grandchildren, Donnie Hunniecutt, Justin Hunniecutt, Nicholas Kantor, Andrew Waldroff, Matthew Waldroff, Coty Waldroff, and Nora MacDonnell; and eleven great-grandchildren who brought her so much happiness.
Mary will be remembered for her laughter, her music, and the unwavering love she gave to those around her.
