It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norman R. Plamondon, beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather,
great-grandfather, and friend. Norman peacefully passed at home surrounded by loved ones on February 11, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born on June 9, 1945, in Augusta, Maine, Norman was the only child of Henry Plamondon and Adrienne Morrissette Plamondon. He
remained in Maine until 1985 when he moved to Massachusetts. His love for life and deep connection to family were evident throughout
his 79 years. Norman was a devoted and loyal husband to his wife, Rita, with whom he shared 26 years of countless moments of joy.
Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Norman’s life was full of passion and hobbies that brought him joy, including spending time with his family and friends, taking long
drives with no particular destination in mind, shopping and dining out. He cherished the simple pleasures of life, from enjoying
Wednesday nights out with his dear friends Paul, Leo, and Ozzi, to boating on the "Tammy Jo", or relaxing at home watching FOX
News or NASCAR. He could always be found with a Dunkin Donuts coffee or a vanilla chai in hand. His vehicle was always
meticulously clean inside and out, with a flannel shirt in the back seat in case he got cold. His love for sweets, especially chocolates or
caramel Goetze’s, banana popsicles, mini powdered donuts, will forever be remembered. Norman also enjoyed a well-mixed, and
salted margarita.
A true "Jack of all trades," Norman was an expert mechanic and problem solver, known for his remarkable skills in the graphic arts field.
He spent 20 years working as a pressman between JS McCarthy's and the Kennebec Journal, rising from the "clean-up rookie" to
Pressroom Manager. Norman later went on to work for Donald L. Wade Co in Andover, MA, where his specialized skills in servicing
offset printing machinery earned him respect and admiration. After retiring in 2002, he moved to Spring Hill, FL, where he enjoyed more
than 20 years of retirement, savoring the freedom and relaxation he had so rightfully earned.
Norman was widely known for his generous, determined, and compassionate nature. His ability to fix anything, whether mechanical or
otherwise, made him the "go-to guy" for those in need. His charismatic personality, great sense of humor, and famous hugs will be
dearly missed. Those who knew him well remember his love for always having "back up supplies to his back up supplies". He had a
flirtatious charm, a “gift to gab” and exceptional dancing skills.
He is survived by his devoted wife Rita Plamondon of Spring Hill, FL; his daughters Tammy Plamondon Michaud and her partner
Leigh Rossi of Kensington, NH, and Jo Plamondon Welch and her husband Ed Welch of Hooksett, NH; his stepchildren, Lance
Martin and his wife Shannon of Fort Worth, TX, Nina Merida and her husband Mark of Nottingham, NH, Dale Martin and his wife
Kara of Castle Rock, CO, and Kara Maslowski and her husband Rob of Fremont, NH.
He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, Nathan Michaud and his wife Siobhan and their son Owen,
Monique Driscoll and her husband Sean and their daughter Delilah, Nicholas Michaud, Victoria Welch Powers and her husband
Tom, Samantha Welch and her partner Jacob, Christopher Michaud and his wife Caroline, and Edward Welch.
He is also survived by his step-grandchildren, Lauren Lennon and her partner Bret and their children Olivia, Bella, Blake, Bennett
and Bryson, Jacob Lennon and his wife Olivia and their son Riley, Colby Felch, Alexandria Igyarto and her husband Eric and
their children Conan and Senna, Samantha LaGrange and her husband Carson, Megan Martin and her partner Ash, Kyle Martin,
Matthew Maslowski, Emma Maslowski, Kameron Martin, Madelynn Martin, Ty Martin, and Sidney Martin.
Norman was predeceased by his parents, Henry Plamondon (D.1974) and Adrienne Morrissette Plamondon (D.2009) of Augusta,
Maine.
A private family memorial will be held in Norman's honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Hernando
Pasco Hospice, 12242 Cortez Brooksville, FL, in his memory.
Norman’s legacy of love, humor, and his generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His presence will be missed, but
his memory will remain with us forever.
