Paul William Halek born in Perth Amboy and raised in Edison, NJ passed away at home on Thursday, May 8th
He attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and was a graduate of Edison HS in 1982. Paul served as an altar boy and nurtured a lifelong love of sports from a very young age. He played baseball, basketball and football and later in life enjoyed golf and watching horse races. He excelled in baseball and ultimately achieved notable success as a pitcher for the AAA Pittsburgh Pirates.
Paul is survived by his wife, Claudine Battaglia Halek, his son, Drew; his father, Theodore; sisters Carol Ann Veldkamp and Cherilyn Astrom and brother Teddy Halek. His nephews Sean, Nicholas, Samuel, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Daniel, great nephews Reed and Flynn, nieces Corinne, Summerlyn, Carly and Alexandra will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his devoted mother Barbara Halek.
