

He was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was a proud Florida Native. Rodney's military service included the U.S. Navy, U.S. Naval Reserve, Florida National Guard, U.S. Coast Guard, and Merchant Mariners throughout 1953-1967. Rodney's working career included carpentry and construction, including six homes he designed and built from start to finish. He enjoyed most water related hobbies including fishing, boating, and swimming.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Revels; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan & Michelle Revels of Weeki Wachee, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Amy & James O'Neil of Brooksville, Florida. Rodney aka “Papa” was so very proud of his four grandchildren, Logan and Lauren Revels of Weeki Wachee, Florida, Meagan and Rachel O’Neil of Brooksville, Florida. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, J.L. & Lorraine Evans of Brooksville, Florida; sister, Karen Seay of Spring Hill, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sister, Gwen Storm and brothers, Wayne and Darryl Evans.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00-3:00pm, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Merritt Funeral Home-Spring Hill, 4095 Mariner Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30pm, Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
