She was born on April 1, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York to Marie and Anthony Racalbuto.
A devoted wife to her late husband, Anthony Gomez, she always carried his love with her.
Santina Gomez is survived by her children, Robert and Dawn, Anthony and Tammy, and Raymond; grandchildren, Robert and Jamie, Frankie and Brittney, Anthony and Hannah,Toni and Angel, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Elianna, Everett, and AJ; and niece, Dolores Delgado, who will cherish her memory forever. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Connie and Santa and her brother, Joseph.
She found joy in simple pleasures—nurturing her plants, getting lost in a good book, and indulging in a well-deserved shopping trip. Her beloved cat, Casper, was her constant companion, always by her side or curled up in her lap.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially loved boasting to her friends over dinner about Elianna, Everett, and AJ, proudly sharing stories of their accomplishments. She also often spoke about how proud she was of her grandchildren Robert, Frankie, Anthony, Toni, and Jessica, and watching them grow into amazing adults filled her heart with joy.
She found beauty in the world through her favorite colors, red and emerald green, and was especially drawn to cherry blossoms and bonsai trees. She was deeply fascinated with dragonflies, seeing them as symbols of grace, transformation, and strength.
A Visitation and Service will be held on March 9, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home, 4095 Mariner Boulevard.
Though she is no longer with us, her love, stories, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
