Kenneth "Scotty" Edward Thomas 96, a resident of Spring Hill, Florida died Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at home, wife Alice Faye at his bedside.
Memorial service to be announced. Cremation to take place September 12th at Turner Funeral Home in Spring Hill, Florida. Burial site will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Memorials may be made to Sturgill Hospice Care Center.
Scotty was born June 15, 1926 in Tipperary, Iowa, the son of Edward and Marguerite (Huxford) Thomas. He served his country in the United States Navy from January 13, 1943 - June 11, 1947. He married Alice Faye Lunsford on March 14, 1970 in Lafayette, Georgia.
After WWII he worked as a salesman for Tri City Equipment Company, Davenport, Iowa. He relocated to Tampa, Florida in 1960, where on one rainy night he received two gentleman into his home. They were on visitation for their church, pastored by Raymond Hancock, and that night he received JESUS as his Saviour. He became a student of the scriptures, a pastor, and teacher. He pastored in Florida, Iowa, and Wyoming.
His family left to honor his memory include his his loving wife, Alice Faye; sons, John (Collette) of Rising Fawn, Georgia, Scott of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Matthew "Matt" (Joann) Spring Hill, Florida; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
His mother, father, and his brother William (Bill) Thomas of Bettendorf, Iowa has preceded him in death.
Celebration of life will be 10AM Monday, October 3, 2022 located at Turner Funeral Home.
