

Teresa Dell Garcia, 63, of Brooksville passed away, Monday August 3, 2020. Born January 13, 1957, in Dunedin, Florida, she is predeceased by her parents, Rudolph and Adell Sanderson. Teresa graduated from Hernando High School in 1975 and was a member of the Leopard Marching Band Flag Corp.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Garcia of 8 years. Teresa is also survived by her children, Stacey Fritchley and her husband Billy of Apopka, Florida, Brian Dawsy and his wife Brynn of Tampa, Florida, Amanda Hair and her husband Frank of Eustis, Florida, TJ Garcia and his wife Rachel of Brooksville, Florida and 9 grandchildren Nathan Fritchley, Brooklyn Fritchley, Parker Dawsy, Grayson Dawsy, Joshua Hair, Jacob Hair, Lucas Hair, Jayden Garcia and Aubrey Garcia. She is also survived by her sisters Kathie Webb of Brooksville, Florida ,Donna and her husband Kenny Lucier of Brooksville, Florida and the late Linda survived by her husband Jerry Arnett or Peru, Indiana as well as nieces’ and nephews, Samantha Lewis, Bradley Lucier, Cameron Lucier, Jerry Arnette Jr., Tilha Hostetler and Kayla Hudson.
Teresa, also known as “T” by many, worked for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office for 38 years and had many accomplishments that she was proud of. Some of those accomplishments include being the 1st female deputy in Hernando County, Developed and became the Supervisor of the Crime Analyst Department and Loved working in the Vice Department. Her co-workers admired her work ethic throughout her years of service with the department.
A loving wife, mother and nana, Teresa was looking forward to spending more time with her friends and family after retiring from the Sheriff’s Office. Her proudest accomplishments were her children and her beautiful grandchildren who she loved more than words can say. She looked forward to having the grandchildren over for the weekend, taking them bowling, to the children’s museum, the zoo and swimming in the pool. Planning the annual family vacation to Cocoa Beach with all the kids and grandchildren is something that she loved to do and would always look forward to. Teresa will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
A private funeral service celebrating her life will be hold on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Turner Funeral Home. Family and friends are welcome to join the family at Tom and Teresa’s home from 4pm – 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the ALS Association of Tampa.
