Valentina Wolodymyra Tomashosky

Valentina was born in Sarasota, Florida on June 23, 2003 to parents, Gene and Christina Tomashosky. Valya, Val, or, simply, Kid, as she was fondly called by her family and friends, was an active member of the Central High School Navy Junior ROTC, achieving the rank of Cadet Lieutenant. She was the Commanding Officer of Company Bravo and a leader of the Unarmed Drill Team. The NJROTC was her passion. Valentina planned to continue her education at the University of South Florida majoring in Forensic Science.

Valentina possessed the gift of profound and humble selflessness and generosity, spreading positivity and happiness with every person she encountered. The family has established a memorial scholarship fund in Valentina’s name to continue her spirit of generosity and paying-it-forward.

Valentina is survived by her parents, Christina and Gene; her maternal and paternal grandparents, Yuri & Vera Nakonechny and Eugene & Daria Tomashosky; her aunt & Godmother, Larysa DiDio; her aunt, Daria Hryckowian; Her uncle & aunt, Paul & Traci Tomashosky; and numerous cousins and extended family.

A celebration of life will occur at Turner Funeral Home at 14360 Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill on the 21st of April, 2021 at 5 pm. Please donate to the Valentina Memorial Scholarship fund on GoFundMe in lieu of flowers.
