During their marriage, she gave birth to six children: Linda Byerley (predeceased); Cindy Hood (Jim); Judy Lorz (Bob); Vern Geib (Dori); Wesley Geib (Bruni); and Steven Geib. She leaves behind five children.

Once retired, Vern and Virginia moved from New Lenox, Illinois, to Spring Hill, Florida, where they enjoyed the remainder of their lives together traveling and making many new friends.
The family will hold a private burial ceremony at the Florida National Cemetery with a VA solute for Vern’s service in the U.S. Army. The family thanks all who hold loving memories of their mom, Virginia Geib. May she rest in peace.
