

Wilberto Torres, age 38, of the Bronx, NY, passed away on January 26th, 2019. Will was born on June 28th, 1980, in Heidelberg, Germany. As a child, he and his family lived in Bayamón, Puerto Rico and they moved to Washington Heights, NY before settling in the Bronx in 1990. After 9/11 he moved to Jacksonville, FL to pursue his career as a truck driver for Stevens Transportation. Will was all about his family and always made sure they were taken care of before himself. He had a penchant for pranking his loved ones and often times had the last laugh like his favorite character, The Joker. Will was a movie buff, sneaker head and watch enthusiast. He will be missed beyond measure but remembered for his beautiful smile and infectious laughter. Survivors include his wife, Esmeralda Rodriguez; mother, Nancy Ivette Pena Torres; father, Jose Orlando Torres; sister, Adelaida Torres Guance; niece, Paige Leann Guance; nephew, Kaylib Lynk Guance; paternal grandmother, Carmen Maria Colon; maternal grandmother, Ana Ida Pena Cruz; mother-in-law, Liliana Rodriguez; father-in-law, Sarito Rodriguez; brothers-in-law, Joshua Edwin Rodriguez and Victor George Guance. A Celebration of Will’s Life will be held on Wednesday, January 30th from 4-7 pm at Turner Funeral Home in Spring Hill, FL. To honor Will’s memory, the family is requesting friends to wear purple to his life celebration.
