William “Scotty” Mackinven, age 90, of Brooksville, FL., died at his home on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014. William moved to Brooksville 28 years ago from Chicago, IL, where he worked and retired from the Ford Motor Company for 19 years, as an electrician repairing and maintaining the assembly lines. Born in Scotland to the late Donald & Lillias (Wilson) Mackinven. Scotty served in the British Navy as a Signalman on a British Destroyer, and for a time, worked in the Palace as an Electrician for the Queen and royal family. Scotty was an avid Tea drinker and formerly a Scotch drinker. He was known for saying, “Been there, done that”. Scotty was Christian by faith, and a longtime member of AA. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Virginia Mackinven of Brooksville, FL., and by his Step-sons and Step-daughters, and their entire family of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. At Scotty’s own request, the family will have private family services.
