Arthur was the beloved husband of Eileen Spector for nearly 60 years. Their enduring love story began in the Poconos in 1963 and blossomed into a beautiful marriage on August 16, 1964. Together, they raised two daughters, Janet Spector Mundy (Richard) and Michelle Spector (Sam Kolb), creating a warm and nurturing home filled with love.
Arthur's greatest joy was his role as a grandfather to Andrew, Robert, Emily, Alex, and David. He delighted in their company, especially during visits to the zoo, where his eyes lit up at the chance to share his world with them.
Born in Philadelphia, Arthur was a proud alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University. He served his country honorably in the Army before embarking on a distinguished career as a High School Science Teacher in the NYC School System. After 27 years of inspiring students, he retired in 1995, leaving behind a legacy of curiosity and dedication.
Arthur's thirst for knowledge was insatiable. Fluent in seven languages, he had a deep passion for reading non-fiction, history, and art in multiple languages. His love for learning extended to his travels, which took him to over 25 countries across four continents, where he made countless friends and cherished diverse experiences.
An aficionado of classical music and jazz, Arthur found solace and joy in the melodies that accompanied his life. His contributions to his family and his zest for discovery defined him and will be remembered fondly.
Arthur is survived by his caring sister, Selma, and a multitude of friends and family who will miss him dearly. In honor of his memory, the family asks that donations be made to People to People.
Arthur's spirit lives on through the lives he touched, the knowledge he shared, and the love he gave so generously.
