Audree Rose Marks Menken, beloved wife of George, devoted mother of Irwin (Kim) and Faith, and adored grandmother of Palmer, passed away in Sarasota, FL, after a brief illness at the age of 83. Born in Brooklyn, Audree lived in New City, NY, Stockbridge, MA, and Sarasota, FL. She will be remembered by her loving family and friends for her warmth, generosity and wonderful sense of humor. Audree was trained as a speech and hearing therapist, and taught deaf children to lip read. She loved classical music, and in particular the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Tanglewood, as well as the opera, the arts, reading and tennis. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, 10 am, at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY. Interment will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017, 11 am, at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery, Great Barrington, MA.
