George — a long-time resident of Nyack NY — was the devoted husband of Tanya Sherman, who retired from teaching English at Ramapo School and predeceased George in 2022.
Before he retired at age 70, George ran a company he had founded — C.G. Metals — that supplied copper sheets to fine art print makers across the country. He was an avid supporter of the arts.
George is survived by his daughter, Rorie Sherman, and her husband, Scott Bujalski; by George’s son, Jordan Sherman, his wife Lori Skrobola Sherman, and their adult sons, Zachary and Valery.

Funeral services will be held at Congregation Sons of Israel, located at 300 N Broadway, Nyack, NY 10960, on January 18, 2026, starting at 11:00 am.
