

Geraldine Greenberg of Suffern, New York died at home on January 21, 2024. Mrs. Greenberg, the daughter of Joseph Samuels and Anna Samuels (Greenberg) was born on December 12, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York and was a long time resident of Rockland County. She graduated from New Utrecht High School in 1945. Years later, she received has Associate degree from Rockland Community College.
Throughout her life, she was very active in the Rockland community. She served as a Board Member and Recording Secretary of the Rockland County Jewish Home for the Aged and was a long time active member of both Hadassah and the Sisterhood of the Jewish Community Center of Spring Valley.
Beyond that, she was a mentor of first graders through the Visions Program of Rockland Country and, to the delight of so many, she belonged to the Retired Senior Volunteer Clown Troupe where she performed as Grandma Violet!
Mrs. Greenberg was the centerpiece of her large and loving family. Beloved by all, she will forever be remembered for her boundless compassion, ever present humanity and amazing blintzes.
She was predeceased by her husband and soul mate of 50 years, David Greenberg, her sons and their families, Mitchell and Bill of Panama, Richard and Sue of Rochester, Minnesota, Steven and Jody of New York City and her grandchildren Matthew and Benjamin, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Geraldine will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024, 11:00 AM at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Interment will take place immediately following services at Jewish Community Center Cemetery, Route 306 & Brick Church Road, New Hempstead, NY 10977.
