Rabbi Louis Frishman of Pomona, NY, died on February 6, 2013. He was 89. Born in Denver, Colorado on October 12, 1923, he was a graduate of the University of Chicago and Hebrew Union College. Rabbi Frishman served as rabbi of Temple Beth El in Spring Valley, New York for forty-three years and also served as president of the New York Board of Rabbis. He was an activist and leader in movements for civil rights, peace, education, and interfaith dialog. He is survived by his wife, Cantor Mimi Frishman, his daughters, Judith, Deborah, and Marcie, his four grandchildren, and his brother Dr. Jack Frishman. Funeral services will be held at Temple Beth El, Spring Valley, New York on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 11:30 am.
