

Marilyn Pearl Davis passed away on April 20, 2020, at the age of 75. Born on May 4, 1944 and raised in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of immigrants Dr. Max Burstein (d. 2004) and Rebecca Pearl (d. 1975).
Marilyn graduated from SUNY Buffalo in 1966 and married Charles Davis of Middletown, NY on August 20, 1967. They spent their entire married lives as proud residents of the town of Ramapo, Rockland County, NY.
Marilyn earned a Master’s Degree from SUNY New Paltz while working as an elementary school teacher in Minisink Valley and East Ramapo, later co-founding a preschool at Pomona Jewish Center. In her 30’s, she fulfilled a childhood dream to become an attorney graduating law school from Pace University. She and Charles opened their own firm, Davis and Davis, in New City, NY in 1986, which they ran as partners until her disability in 2012.
In her long career of public service, Marilyn served as Deputy Supervisor of the Town of Ramapo, President of the Rockland County Bar Association, Founding Trustee and President of the Rockland County Women’s Bar Association, President of the Pomona Jewish Center, President of the Montebello Jewish Center, and Trustee, member and volunteer of many other community service organizations.
She greatly loved her sister, Sharon, brother-in-law Donald, nephew and niece Richard (Liz) and Rebecca (Ben) and their families. She is survived by a host of cousins whose endearment she felt every day.
Marilyn will be mourned eternally by her husband of 52 years, Charles. She will be fondly missed by her son, Jordon, with whom she practiced law for 16 years, his wife, Shari, and their children, Max and Harrison. Her love will be forever celebrated by her daughter Heather, her husband, Victor, and their son, Marc.
Services will be held graveside. Immediate family only. Donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory, to the Montebello Jewish Center, Rockland Jewish Family Service, and Camp Venture.
