Ruth Jane Horn

Ruth Jane Horn, 72, of New City, NY (formerly of Scarsdale, NY) passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at her home. She was born February 20, 1947 in Manhattan, the daughter of the late Sol Groden and Gertrude Berman. Ruth is survived by her husband of 50 years, Max Horn; her brother, Walter Groden and his wife Barbara Weinberg; two daughters: Judy Horn and her husband Ronald Bruno of Suffern, NY and Sarah Horn, also of Suffern, NY, as well as two grandchildren: Matthew and Rachel Bruno. She is also survived by her two nieces: Suzanne Groden and her husband David Laswell and Deborah Groden, as well as her great nephew & niece Carter and Mackenzie Laswell.

Ruth was a devoted homemaker to her family. She loved bowling, baking, knitting, and devoting time to causes she was passionate about, such as ORT America. She could often be found on summer weekends sitting by the pool and perhaps even doing a crossword puzzle. Her biggest joy in recent years was attending various sporting events, recitals and other happenings that her grandchildren were involved with.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2019, 11:00 AM at Hellman Memorial Chapels 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Interment will follow at Gates of Zion Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
