Jason Richard Knapp

Knapp, Jason Richard of Carlisle, Ohio, formerly West Middletown, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 19, 2026. Jason was born on March 11, 1977, in Middletown, Ohio to Richard and Delores Knapp. He was preceded in death by his sister, Missy, his uncle, Ed Morris, his nephew James Herald, and his nephew Chris Hensley, along with his grandparents and his wife’s grandparents, and his beloved Daisy and Piper. Jason is survived by his wife of almost 25 years Melinda Knapp (Hensley), his daughters Layla, Lucy, Delilah, and Stella Knapp, along with his beloved dogs Lola and Molly. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Delores Knapp, his sister and brother-in-law, Dedra and Junior Herald, his nephew, wife, and children, Kyle, Audrey, Kinsley, and Xavier Herald. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Debbie Strietenberger, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and his special friends, Mark Adkins, Dusty Banks, Doug Bottles, Chad Reed, and Robert Caudill.

He loved spending time with his wife and daughters attending their sporting events, band competitions, along with coaching, cheering, playing games, cooking, cheering on the Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds. He also enjoyed a night at home, watching movies and playing card games, making Sunday morning breakfast, and making the best teriyaki chicken. He was quick to send a meme, tell a dad joke, or give you a hug. He also deeply enjoyed spending time with his villagers while traveling, swimming, grilling, and so many other things. He was always up for a random roadside attraction, antique store visit, or traveling somewhere new.

Jason worked at Cleveland Cliffs for nearly 20 years.

Jason was an excellent man, husband, dad, family member and friend. He will be extremely missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up for his daughter’s college funds under the name of Melinda Knapp. Donations can be made at any Peoples Bank in the area.

Visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 40 North Main Street, Springboro, Ohio, 45066, on January 27, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Stratford Heights Church of God, 4419 Nelson Road, Middletown, OH, 45042, on January 28, 2026, at 11:00 am with Pastors Ray Phillips, and Lawton Chapman officiating. Burial will take place at Miltonville Cemetery.
