Not many fathers would sit and watch a terrible children's show with their eldest that is much too old for it. Caillou was a terrible show for 4-year olds and I was definitely 3 times the average age of its viewers. It became our inside joke, Daddy-Caillou and Nana-Caillou. It feels fitting that with my father's passing, the show is being taken from syndication. Good thing we didn't use Spongebob!

Kofi, you had a gentle spirit that was evident in the way you carried yourself.  It showed in your smile, your dance moves and even in the way you interacted with others. 
Rest In Perfect Peace with the good Lord who knows best.

We have been deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our dear family friend and former neighbor Kofi Anim. He and his family made our move to the Clayton area so much more welcoming. We were introduced through our mutual friends, Emmanuel and Dorcas Boakye. They took us to see your home and we loved it and the style name- “The James”—and chose the same style for our home. Whether it was enjoying get togethers at each other’s homes or watching our children play, Kofi was always so kind and generous. When our youngest was sick, Kofi and Jackie were always so supportive. Kofi will be missed by so many people, but none more than his wonderful wife Jackie and his two daughters, Nana and Mimi. We love you, are praying for you, and are here for you all. Kofi, may you rest in peace and power. 

I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Uncle Kofi. 
The first time we met was at his father’s funeral and the kindness and affection he showed me was just amazing, cracking jokes and making fun  of the fact I was struggling to walk in my sleet . 
But now our family is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again 🙏🏽


I know that there is nothing I can say to wipe away the pain of the loss of Mr. Kofi Anim. 
And yet, I will say the obvious; Mr. Anim was a kind, gentle and a loving soul. 
May the holy angels of Jehovah keep watch over him and may God welcome him into the promised paradise.  
May the Lord strengthen,  guide and comfort his wife, Jacqueline, and his daughters.  
Thank God for his life.

I have known Kofi for almost 30 years and I have found him to be one of the most loving and gentle people I have ever known. In good or bad situations, he loved his family and friends with all his heart and did not let go of this love until the very end. Rest in peace old friend. We love you, from Baaba Teming and family. 

Over 30 years ago we met Kofi and after that he has been part of our family. I remember went he went home to marry Jackie in 1991.  He came to the house in Cincinnati Ohio with a big bottle of Johnny Walkers, a couple of cases of Heineken and soft drinks to show respect and honor traditional marriage.
Since then Jackie and Kofi and the Children has been very close to us as a family. Even when we are sick they are close to us. Their family shows natural love and care to us. 

God knows why he left us so sudden since we were with him at their springboro residence in October.

I met Kofi Anim at Tema Secondary School in 1968. Even though, he was 1 year ahead of me, we became very close friends. We were in the same dormitory (House One-First Floor)

Kofi was quite, gentle and kind. He was also very smart. He became the School Bell Boy when he was in Form 3. As someone who loved to sleep, there were occasions when he overslept and did not ring the ‘wake up” bell at exactly 5:30am. This got him in trouble. He handed over the bell boy responsibility to me. 

Our friendship continued till his untimely death. The last time we spoke a few months ago, we promised to visit each other when the pandemic is over. We fondly referred to each other as “La Garçon “ or “Le Fille” reflecting our decision to drop French in Form 4 and  take Twi to “O” Level. 

He will be missed. My wife and I extend our deepest condolences to Jackie, his daughters and the entire family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Kofi, my brother...you would always respond, my sister...
You are sorely missed, I had no idea that October was the last time I would see you. Then like always, there was good food, great conversation and lots of laughter.  That’s how I will always remember you, a very pleasant and easy going person, never a harsh word, lots of laughter.

I am writing this tribute on behalf of the Dr. G.T. Agyepong and his children:  Irene, Kwabena, Kwaku and Afua.
Kofi has been part of this family since our earliest days.  As a nephew to my mother he stayed briefly with my mother before she married my father.  He was very generous to my family.  He helped me when I first arrived in the US and also helped my brother when he was doing his postgraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati.  He was at my sister’s wedding in Vermont and gave her away.
For those of you who were not fortunate enough to know him, you have missed a once in a lifetime opportunity to know a very generous, kind and funny brother.  He was always ready to stand up for you when you needed him.
As a Christian I always think of the next life in real terms and seek to know the final destiny of a departed loved one.  When I lived with Kofi, we went to church in Dayton so I know he knew the gospel of our Lord Christ Jesus and I believe he was accepting of Christ, which is what matters for eternity.
May his soul rest in peace and he will be missed till we meet on the other side.

Kofi and Jackie Anim were among few Ghanaians that we met in Dayton when  my family moved from Pennsylvania in 1995. We became instant family friends.We used to meet  on the weekends for barbecue,drive to Cincinnati for parties,babysit each others children. I remember when Nana was born and the naming ceremony we had in Riverside apartment ; the list of memories goes on,and i cannot list all of them.But one  thinng i will say.Kofi was such humble person,a true gentleman, and always willing to help.  He will be missed. May his soul rest in peace!

Latif and I have known Kofi since the 90s and remember him bringing Jackie around when she got here in the US.   

He was a big help to a lot of the International students who came to college helping to secure jobs at the gas station back then.  

We remained close to the family and Kofi has always been a man of few words but will always return a phone call or offer to help in any way he can.   My sister and I had a discussion with him just last year before the start of the lockdown when she needed some direction on an issue.  We left him a voice message and he called back promptly breaking down all possible options for us.  Another vivid encounter was as recent as August of last year when we visited Jackie and he instantly offered to go out and get us drinks.  

Kofi you will be sorely missed and we pray sincerely that your journey back to the Maker be peaceful with  perpetual light.   May your soul through the mercy of God rest in perpetual peace.

I’m deeply saddened by your sudden loss of uncle Kofi.  I can’t  imagine what you must be going through.  I extend my most heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
May  God give  uncle Kofi’s  Soul Eternal Rest and the family strength to bear the great pain and loss.

It was a shock to hear of the death of our dear brother. It seems like it was just yesterday when we had dinner together and had a conversation about our good old time life in Cincinnati, just before we departed for Ghana in February. We never dreamt that was going to be our last encounter with him.
Yes indeed, we have had a good time together.  From 1976 to the present. There are too many memories to account for. Papa Kofi as I call him is part and parcel of our family. Upon his marriage to Madam Jackie, his father visited us to ensure that he leaves both Kofi and Jackie into our care and to be the mother, father, and counselor in regards to their marriage.
Throughout the years gentle and reserved as Kofi was, he never failed to respond to our calls or attend our parties, even though he lived fifty miles away. He was always there whenever we called upon him. A man of his words. Reserved, polite, honest, and true to himself.  A treasure you could always count on.
Our wish was to see you and Jackie retire and join us here in Ghana to continue our old-time together, to our new time in Ghana. Our wishes are not God's wish.  As hard and difficult as it is to see your part of this world this time of your life, we console ourselves that God's time is the best.
To Jackie, I salute you and ask the Almighty God to be your strength, protector, and guidance through this difficult time of your life. If it will ease your pain a little bit, know that you have been a great wife, you fulfilled his life, and made him the best man he could be. He treasured you and the children. You and the children were the love of his life. You have been a good wife and you are greatly admired.
We pray that God continues to be with the family left behind, and give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Uncle Kofi is a brother and friend we enjoyed celebrating our accomplishments, anniversaries and milestones with.
Although a man of few words he always got his point across, he was  witty and fun to be around. 
Kofi will be missed dearly.

Hmmm dearest wcfa Kofi Annoh Anim, I truly believe in (Romans 8:38,39) and draw comfort and strength from them in my grief and pain. Your passing has been extremely difficult to bear,  and all I can do is to continue trusting God who gave you life and in his wisdom deemed it fit to take it back unto himself.

I do not know how to begin my complex story. The first time I met Kofi was somewhere in Cincinnati, OH. Both of us had gone to visit a common friend. That was our fist meeting.
Later,  our common friend picked up an argument with me. Kofi listened carefully and joined in the friendly argument. He asked my friend and I to state our arguments clearly. My friend was the host and so he decided to first present his side of the argument. As he presented his case, he often stopped and looked in the direction of our common friend, hoping to get a nod or confirmation for his argument. 

When he had finished his story, Kofi asked me to share my point of view. At the end of my argument, Kofi asked our common friend one or two simple questions. The way Kofi framed the questions somehow compelled our common friend to realize the flaws in his line of argument. His diligent intervention  through his measured words won him my admiration. Indeed, from this story, my honest observation was that no problem was too small for his thoughtful consideration.

On another occasion, he invited my wife and others for a funeral in Dayton. The way he received us left no doubt in my mind that Kofi was a wise and intelligent person.  Every word that emerged from his mouth  originated from a mind seeped in the Akan customs and traditions. We all admired his penetrating insights into the Ghanaian culture with his brilliant speech and reception.

Kofi was a man of action, a man who never allowed prevailing opinion to divert him even an inch from the opinion he thought was right. Above all, he was a man of great character and wonderful temperament who enjoyed a splendid reputation for his integrity, honesty, and love for all. 

How many times did you see Kofi dancing? See the  accompanying picture. I took this picture during a party in Cincinnati more than ten years ago. Rest In Peace, Onua Kofi.

In the Twi language,  the greatest compliment that can be paid to a person, is to say of him: "Oh, he is such a human being ".  It may sounds so banal,  but our ancestors did not consider all men as "human".  When we say of someone that, "oye onipa", what we have in mind, is a person of integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, dependability, compassion, and someone who will not ask you to look up, knowing you should be looking down. 

Kofi  Anim was "onipa". He embodied all these qualities and more. We live in a world now where one hardly hears that expression anymore. 

Kofi has created a void in the lives of the people he touched, including mine, that can never be filled. I am sure his soul will find favour with God.

My condolences go  to his widow and two lovely daughters.  God be with you. 

Uncle Kofi as i used to call you. I will always remember the times that we joined you and  Jackie at your home to fellowship as a family and celebrate the Thanksgiving  and Christmas together. There was always more than enough to eat. we would take breaks and go the living room and watch tv and talk about current events for a while and go back for seconds and then dessert. It was always a pleasure to fellowship with you in church as well. Fare thee well Uncle Kofi, till we meet again!

Words cannot even begin to express the void i have felt since your passing. Not only were you my uncle, but you were mt second father and biggest support. I remember, the day I told you I was graduating school U of A. You laughed with me and congratulated me and promised me you would be there. Through and through you showed up. As always never missing anyone's event. Love you and rest in God's bossom..

Kofi Anim I still have memory of you during the 2019 & 2018 Thanksgiving where my family and yours sat at the table at your residence to have dinner amid having some good discussions.     
It was great to know through both from Dr. Afrane and Jackie Anim. 

I still cannot believe you are gone; however, life has its own course. Kofi, I pray the Almighty Lord keep you till we meet again.

I remember when I was in elementary school you would often come to pick me up. Usually you would drive your old Jaguar. One day you showed up in your Prius and when I opened the door to climb in you asked if it was okay that we weren’t riding in style. I responded with: “the Jaguar is stylish? I had no idea!” 

Uncle Kofi, I remember when you had just met Auntie Jacky, and you were about to go meet her parents. out of all the Children that I was  living with in our lovely home in Achimota, I was the only one you took with you. I felt like a big girl (10-11 yrs) and very important to be by your side on such a memorable Occasion. 
You have always been so kind and loving towards me. 
You will always be in our hearts.

Thank you daddy for 29 years and 1 week  of genuine friendship and love. “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride”.  For you have transformed the lives of a whole generation, Forever grateful as you will remain in our hearts. love. 

Scrolling through pictures last night was difficult, but I know my uncle is in a better place with God our Father.
