

Our beloved brother Abraham Haile Ghelaidos went home to be with the Lord on Sunday March 6, 2022. He passed away peacefully in his sleep in his work truck in the state of Arizona, United States. Abraham was born on October 22, 1970 in Asmara, Eritrea to his mother Weini Medin Lebab and his father Haile Ghelaidos Woriseb.
He attended elementary school at Evangelical School in Asmara, Eritrea and continued middle and high school at Isaac Teweldemedhin School in Asmara, Eritrea. After completing high school, he attended Asmara University for one year before the university was closed and moved to Ethiopia. In 1990 he joined the armed forces for independence of Eritrea.
After independence Abraham served his country with honor and full service. Abraham discharged from the military in 1994, again enlisted back in 1998 to the military when the border conflict between Eritrea and Ethiopia started. Abraham served his country until he was discharged from the military for the second time in 2008. On August 1, 2009 he married his wife Selam Asfaha. In 2011, he migrated to the United States. Abraham loved his family and frequently traveled to spend time with his family in Eritrea. Abraham
worked hard to provide and support for his family back home and he was in the process to join them before his death.
Abraham was a compassionate, loving, and caring person who was a friend to all and never knew a stranger. Abraham was generous and assisted many people in his life. His sense of humor was contagious and he was the life of a party. His friendly humor captured the attention of his relatives and friends as a favorite beloved member. Abraham was adventurous, love to explore new things and love challenge.
Abraham left heroic history giving his life to die for his country. While Abraham accomplished many things in his life, his greatest accomplishment was being a parent. He had always wanted to have
children and he considered himself lucky to have three children. His wife and children were his top priority and always in his mind and close to his heart.
Abraham is survived by his wife Selam Asfaha and his two daughters Misghana; age 11; Lily, age 10; and his son Nathan, age 8. He is also survived by his brothers Asfaha and Mattias (Asmerom); his sisters Lia and Rahel; and his nephews Filmon, Meron, and Daniel, age 8. Abraham was proceeded by his parents and two of his brothers who were freedom fighters and martyrs, Kebreab and Fitseum.
