

Adolph A. Mudra, 99, of Springfield, passed away at 2:55 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at St. John's Hospice. Adolph was born November 20, 1911 in Springfield, the son of Alois and Barbara Voitek Mudra. He married Violet Nerone on June 6, 1936 in Springfield. Adolph worked for International Shoe Company and retired from Terminix in 1977 after 28 years. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of The Eagles since 1941. Adolph enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time in his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David L. Mudra; great-granddaughter, Michaela Cain; brothers, Anton, John, Carl and Joseph; and sisters, Mary Sabo and Sr. Barbara Ann Mudra, O.P.B. He is survived by his wife, Violet Mudra of Springfield; two sons, James (wife, Barbara) Mudra and Joseph (wife, Donna) Mudra, all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Michelle (husband, Bob) Cain, Mike (wife, Laura) Mudra, Theresa (husband, Todd) Maggiore, all of Springfield, and Scott (wife, Sue) Mudra of Hartford, WI; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Tom Donovan officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
