

Agnes Roseline "Aggie" Anderson, 80, of Springfield, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at St. Joseph's Home. Aggie was born Sept. 19, 1928, in Springfield, the daughter of John and Agnes (Green) Tracey. She married Charles L. Anderson in 1949 in Springfield. He died in 1990. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1946 and stayed lifelong friends with many of her classmates. She dedicated the early portion of her adult life to being a wonderful mother to seven children. In 1975, she returned to work, eventually becoming a Realtor, an occupation she adored. She worked for Tom Flattery, Charlie Robbins and at Re/Max, making wonderful friends along the way. She retired in 1998. She was a member of the St. Agnes Altar Society, the St. Louise De Marillac Guild, delivered Meals and Wheels, was involved in Children's Miracle Network and served as a tour guide at Frank Lloyd Wright's Dana-Thomas House. She loved her family, her friends and to see the world. Her smile warmed a room. Her strength was tremendous. She is survived by her children: Maryellen Muratore, of Morgan Hill, Calif. and her daughter, Chiara; Charles (Lu) Anderson, of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and his sons, John, Kevin and Sam, all of the Minneapolis, Minn. area, and grandchildren, Kayla and Manny; Todd (Joanie) Anderson, of Springfield and children: Drew, of Minneapolis, Minn., Jessica, of St. Louis, Mo, Marc, of Champaign-Urbana, and Grant, of Bloomington, Ind.; Tracy (Keith Haynes) Cunningham, Kirkwood, Mo. and children: Staff Sgt. Erik, of San Diego, Calif., Bailey of Kirkwood, and Madaline, of Springfield, Ill; James (Becky) Anderson of St. Louis, Mo. and children: Elizabeth, of Chicago, Zachary, of St. Louis, Jennifer, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jacob, of Missoula, Mont.; Paul (Cathy) Anderson of Woodstock, Ga. and children, Julia and Joseph; and Sarah (Gianni) Antonacci of Springfield and children Elise, Gabriella and Anderson "Andy." She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Rev. Terence Tracey. Her family will receive friends Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. Sixth St., with a short prayer service that will begin at 4 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph's Home, 3306 S. Sixth St. Rd, Spfld., IL, 62703, where Aggie was blessed to receive the most wonderful and heartfelt care for the past 6-1/2 years.
