Alberta R. Lewis

Alberta was born October 19, 1923 in West Point, IL, the daughter of Albert and Lena Mayberry Nicely. She married William T. Lewis on July 21, 1951 in Augusta, IL; he preceded her in death on November 5, 2015.

Alberta graduated from Augusta High School in 1942. She went on to attend school in Chicago. Alberta was employed with the Schuyler County Treasurers Office and retired from the State of Illinois Department of Comptroller in 1994.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Nicely; and sister, Irene Russo.

She is survived by her three daughters, Diane Rebman of Davenport, IA, Suzie (husband, Donald Landry) Lewis of Springfield, and LuAnne (husband, Steven) Miller of Glenarm; four grandchildren, Jeremiah (wife, Sarah) Miller, Jaime (husband, Samuel) Olekesusi, William Rebman, and Lori (husband, Jay) Westra; seven great-grandchildren, who are the most beautiful children in the world; and sister, Kathryn Horsley of Elk Grove.

Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Celebration Gathering and Service: Family will receive friends from 12:00 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Ave. West, Springfield. A celebration service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
