Andrew Scott Beauchamp, "Big", 32, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016, at home with his family by his side. He was born December 7, 1984 in Springfield, to Scott and Kelly Carver Beauchamp. He was preceded in death by his sister, Chloe and grandfather, George Carver. Andrew married his high school sweetheart, Jennifer Antonacci on September 22, 2007. Andrew was known for his sense of humor and positive encouraging outlook. Anybody who heard him called "Big" might have thought it was due to his size. He was built like a football player and was that for sure, garnering several football awards in High School including 1st team all-state honors. He continued his football career at Millikin University, where he graduated from in 2007. Some may have thought the nickname was because of that big smile, a huge grin that by itself made others smile too. But to those that knew him, "Big" had a more definite meaning. One constructed by His Heavenly Father, "Big" best described this man's heart and how he shared it. His joy, humility and caring for others was the product of his love for his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Big's wife and children were the light of his life and the center of his world, and he loved them with all his heart and strength. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as being a passionate St Louis Cardinal fan. Andrew lived life putting others' needs in front of his own. He acted as "Big" brother, "Big" cousin, and "Big" friend to scores of people. His encouragement was constant and his commitment to love was indeed "Big" just like his heart. He was first diagnosed with cancer in 2011, but kept his faith and fought valiantly throughout his entire journey, making a commitment to enjoy life and the things he loved as long as he was physically able. Andrew will be greatly missed by his wife Jennifer and his four children, Elise, Claire, Jase and Norah; Parents Scott and Kelly Beauchamp of Springfield; Sister Rachel (Curtis) Hughes of Springfield; grandparents Tom and Marilyn Beauchamp of Sherman, Donna Carver of Springfield; uncles and aunts , Mark (Wanda) Beauchamp, Keith (Kathy) Beauchamp, Stuart Beauchamp (companion Kirsta Nonneman) , George (Patricia) Carver, Dawn (Dave) Leigh, Greg (Kim) Carver, and several nieces, cousins and friends. His family will greet friends 3pm-7pm, Wednesday December 21, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 St Rt 4, Chatham. Visitation will also be held 9am-10am, Thursday , December 22 at Cherry Hills Baptist Church, 2125 Woodside Rd, Springfield, before the celebration of Andrew's life at 10am. Rev. Kirk Bennett will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
