Andrew J. "Andy" Britz

He was born on April 10, 1959 in Springfield, the son of Peter Joseph and Pauline (Jarrio) Britz.

Andy attended DeKalb County Special Education Center and The Elaine Clark Center, both in Atlanta, GA. He participated in the Special Olympics and enjoyed competing in the swimming, weightlifting, bowling, and track and field categories. He worked part-time at the Clear Lake McDonald’s and was named employee of the month on several occasions. Andy was also a valued asset with the Special Developmental Center. He loved listening to music (especially country), dancing, seeing oceans and beaches, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Joseph Britz; sister, Julie Hustead; and brother, Peter Charles Britz.

Andy is survived by his mother, Pauline Britz of Fort Mill, SC; brothers, Matthew (Cynthia) and Luke (Amy) Britz, both of Fort Mill, SC; sisters, Melissa (David) Phillips of Waxhaw, NC and Mary Beth (Eddie) Revis of Rock Hill, SC; sister-in-law, Toni Britz; brother-in-law, Henry Hustead; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

A private graveside ceremony will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
