Angela Marie Gaio

Angela Marie Gaio, 82, of Springfield, died at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at St. John's Hospital. Angie was born August 15, 1926 in Springfield, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Leutenmayer Schuckhardt. She married John F. Gaio on July 10, 1948 in Decatur. Angie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved travelling, cooking, baking sewing and reading. She collected dolls and antiques. She was a past president of the Land of Lincoln Doll Club. Angie was very artistic and she and her husband John built many doll houses. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William Schuckhardt. She is survived by her husband, John F. Gaio; her daughters, Connie Gaio and Denese (husband, David) Pfeiffer all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Ashley and Nicholas Pfeiffer; one great-grandchild, Matthew Pfeiffer; a sister, Rita (husband, Frank) Farley of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:30 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher A. House, officiating. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
