

Angela Killam Guthrie, 95, of Springfield, formerly of Evanston, died at 8:04 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at St. Johns Hospital. Angie was born March 23, 1922 in Franklin, IL, the daughter of John S. and R. Pearl Bowlds Killam. She married Dean E. Guthrie on March 16, 1958 in Jacksonville; he preceded her in death on July 29, 2010. Angie earned her bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene from Northwestern University was employed as a registered dental hygienist until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield, where she was also a member of the Quilting Circle. She was active in bible study and playing euchre with friends at Montvale Estates. Angie enjoyed quilting, needlework, reading, and genealogy. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Killam; and half-sister, Irene McCullough. She is survived by her sister, Ruth (husband, Lawrence) Martinez of Tacoma, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Liberty Church, 1003 W. Michigan Ave., Jacksonville. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Jacksonville.
