Angelina Magdalena Spada

Angelina Magdalena ''Angie'' Spada, 84 of Hickory, North Carolina, formerly of Springfield, passed away Friday, October 19, 2001 at Brian Center in Hickory. Angelina was born March 18, 1916 the daughter of Merino and Josephine Giacometti. She married Louis Alfred Spada in 1937, he preceded her in death in 1977. Mrs. Spada had worked at the Lincoln Center in the gift shop. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Primo Giacometti; two siters, Marcella Fabro and Mary Morescki. She survived by a daughter, Norma (husband, Richard) Kern of Hickory, North Carolina; a son, Alfred ''Fred'' (wife, Jerri) Spada of Springfield; a brother, Merino (wife, Mary Ellen) Giacometti of Sprinfield; two grandsons, Douglas Spada of Boulder, Colorado and Charles Spada of Colorado; a granddaughter, Stephanie Frietag of San Diego, California and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2001 with a wake service at 5:00 p.m. Celebrated Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Rev. John Titus celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
