

Ann �Nancy� Moneen MacDonald, 88, died Monday, November 5, 2012, in Springfield, IL. Nancy was born September 5, 1924, in Englewood, NJ, the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Frances Veronica Hall Markham. She married James Alexander MacDonald, who preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. MacDonald is survived by her beloved son, Mark Alexander MacDonald (Anita Stienstra) of Chatham. She is also survived by brother Thomas (Joyce) Markham of Babylon, NY; nieces Denise (David) Serewicz of St. Charles, IL and Eileen (Tom) Berreca of Westport, CT. Mrs. MacDonald retired from the Pacific Stock Exchange in San Francisco, CA, where she was a secretary for over a decade. She then lived for many years in San Diego, before moving to Springfield, IL in 2004 and making her residence at Kings Daughters Home and Fairhills Residence. For almost 40 years since young adulthood, she lived and worked as a secretary in New York City, for Albert Ashforth, Inc., Erik Friis, Scandinavian Airlines and Arabian American Oil Co. Nancy will be remembered fondly for her strength and vigor in life, for her wit, intellect, independence, style and fearlessness to face and embrace new experiences every moment throughout her days. Special thanks to Memorial Home Services Hospice, particularly Pat, Emma, Meghan, Melanie, Kelly, Donna, Lisa and everyone else that cared for or spent loving time with Nancy after her heart attack and stroke.
