Anna Laura Curtis

Anna Laura Curtis, 93, of Springfield, died at 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2007 in Scottsdale, AZ. She was born on December 18, 1913 in Clinton, Indiana, the daughter of William and Anna G. Gallivan Curtis. Upon graduating from high school in Clinton, Anna attended Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, IN where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Dietetics and Home Economics. She then continued her education at Purdue University obtaining her Masters Degree in Institutional Management. Anna began her career as an educator at Clinton High School in Clinton, IN teaching Home Economics. Throughout her career, she taught Dietetics, Institutional Management and coordinated large banquets for several different colleges and universities. She also served as a Dietitian and Banquet/Catering Coordinator for restaurant chains including Harding & Williams and Howard Johnson. She joined the Springfield community in 1998. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Mary M. Morris and one brother-in-law: Thomas J. Morris. She is survived by one nephew: Thomas H. (wife, Linda) Morris of Springfield; two great-nephews: Andrew J. (wife, Michelle) Morris and Timothy B. (wife Monique) Morris all of Gilbert, AZ and two great-great nieces: Paige and Peyton Morris also of Gilbert, AZ. The family will receive friends from 9-10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2nd, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 South 6th Street in Springfield. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2nd, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant. Burial Ceremonies will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday March 2nd at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton, Indiana.
